Our client, an upmarket hotel and conference center in Pretoria is looking for a Night Auditor / Supervisor to join their dynamic team.

JOB DESCRIPTION / PURPOSE:

To ensure accurate completion of end-of-day financial and operational procedures, provide efficient and courteous Front Office services during the night shift, and act as the responsible person for guest service, safety and security during the night. Checks front office accounting records for accuracy and on a daily basis, summarises and compiles information for the hotel's financial records. Tracks room revenue, occupancy percentages, and other front office operating statistics. Prepares a summary of Restaurant dockets and credit card activities reflecting the hotel's financial performance for the day. Posts room charges, Groups DCP charges and also post guest transactions not posted during the day by the front office staff. The Night Auditor acts as a bridge between daytime staff and the back-office team and ensures that all guest requests are taken care of during the graveyard shift and that guests experience a fantastic stay. The Night Auditor also acts as the Manager on Duty during the night shift in the absence of senior management.

  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of the night audit, end-of-day procedures and financial reports.
  • Perform check-in and check-out procedures according to standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Post room and conference charges to respective folios accurately and on time.
  • Transfer charges and deposits to master accounts as per SOP.
  • Verify that all charges posted from restaurant, bar, Micros / POS and SPA have reached the correct guest folios and that no dockets are missing.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Grade 12
  • Diploma in Hospitality Management or related field will be beneficial

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Minimum 2 to 3 years' work experience as Front Office Supervisor or Team Leader - Front Office / Guest Relations in a hotel.
  • Minimum 2 to 3 years of hotel front desk supervisory experience, experience handling cash, accounting procedures, and general administrative tasks.
  • Previous night audit experience and exposure to hotel financial reporting will be an advantage.
  • Well-developed communication and customer relations skills.
  • Knowledge of hotel Front Office operations, night audit procedures and relevant hotel policies.

  • Strong numerical and analytical skills with the ability to reconcile accounts and identify discrepancies.

  • Ability to work in a hotel environment with varying levels of noise and guest activity.
