Our client is a nutrition company that manufactures and sells superior quality whole-food nutrition products. They are looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Junior Inventory Planner to join their Product Supply team in Johannesburg. This is a permanent, full-time position ideal for a motivated individual looking to grow within a dynamic supply chain environment.

JOB DESCRIPTION / PURPOSE:

To support the planning, monitoring, and management of inventory levels by handling daily inventory administration, data updates, and analysis to ensure optimal stock availability.

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist with daily inventory updates, stock tracking, and reporting.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate records of stock movements, variances, and replenishment requirements.
  • Support the Senior Inventory Planner with forecasting activities and demand planning.
  • Update and maintain Excel-based inventory models with accurate and timely data.
  • Assist in preparing inventory reports, including backorder and slow-moving stock analyses.
  • Help prepare Purchase Orders (POs) and ensure correct documentation is completed and filed.
  • Monitor stock levels and highlight risks such as shortages or overstocking.
  • Collaborate with Distribution Centres (DCs) to obtain accurate inventory and movement data.
  • Assist with Material Requirements Planning (MRP).
  • Maintain and update relevant Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Complete all required inventory reports within specified deadlines.
  • Support monthly and quarterly inventory reviews and cycle counts.
  • Perform ad hoc duties as required by management.

Quarterly Tasks:

  • Assist with updating standard costing on Sage for the new quarter.
  • Support preparation of Product Supply Input File.
  • Support preparation of Country Input File.
  • Support preparation of Literature Product Supply Input File.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Matric (Mathematics, Accounting, or related analytical field an advantage)
  • Related tertiary qualifications would be an added advantage

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • 1–2 years' experience is an advantage; entry-level candidates welcome
  • MATHS SKILLS are essential
  • Advanced Excel skills are essential (pivot tables, formulas, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP).
  • Experience with inventory systems or ERP platforms (e.g., Sage) is an advantage.
  • Strong understanding of inventory planning and the Product Supply workflow.
  • Ability to maintain high accuracy and consistency in data management.
  • Strong analytical and numerical ability.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Computer literacy — MS Office Suite essential.
  • Ability and willingness to work flexible and additional hours when required.
