COMPANY DESCRIPTION:

Our client, an upmarket hotel and conference center in Pretoria is looking for an experienced and hands-on Site Supervisor to take full ownership of construction and maintenance projects across a prestigious country and wine estate.

JOB DESCRIPTION / PURPOSE:

The successful candidate will manage projects from planning and costing through to execution and completion, ensuring high-quality standards are maintained throughout the property.

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Project & Site Management (Full Project Ownership)

  • Independently manage construction and maintenance projects from start to finish
  • Prepare detailed project costings, estimates, and material lists
  • Control and monitor project budgets and expenses
  • Coordinate suppliers and negotiate pricing
  • Supervise on-site teams and subcontractors
  • Allocate daily tasks and manage productivity
  • Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget
  • Maintain high-quality workmanship aligned with estate standards
  • Conduct site inspections and oversee compliance with health and safety regulations
  • Provide hands-on support where required

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Grade 12 (Matric)
  • Trade qualification or construction-related certification is required

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Proven experience as a Site Supervisor, Foreman, or similar role
  • Must have strong working knowledge of:
  • General building and construction
  • Painting and finishing
  • Plumbing
  • Electrical systems
  • Carpentry and structural work
  • General property maintenance and repairs
  • Ability to run projects independently without constant oversight
  • Strong costing and budgeting experience
  • Solid knowledge across multiple building trades
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Basic understanding of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
  • Knowledge of safe handling of tools, maintenance equipment, and materials.
  • Awareness of hotel standards, maintenance procedures, and occupational health and safety regulations.
  • Physically fit and able to perform manual labour
  • Valid drivers license
  • Flexible to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays as required.
